Eriswell Lodge 2nd March 2024

On behalf of SMaCSS I would like to thank everyone who supported us on Saturday 2nd March 2024.

What a great turnout for shooting we managed to achieve. We were lucky enough to have 54 shooters and 4 diners to support us on our annual winter shoot at Eriswell. I have to say, despite a pleasant start, the weather was not kind to us. Strong winds and driving rain made it tough going along the west side of the course. However, it did nothing to dampen the spirits of our shooters. A wonderful day it finally turned out to be. The Suffolk Masonic Clay Shooting Society was pleased to host keen clay shooters comprised of Suffolk Masons, Masons of other provinces and friends to shoot the winter 100 bird sporting competition.

The event was kicked off by a plated english breakfast before SMaCSS Chairman Roger Nash opened the day with a Suffolk welcome, a safety briefing and an outline of CPSA rules for the day.

After three hours of shooting the scores were collated and announced. High gun for the day was Chris Smith (non mason) with an excellent score of  81/100. Top masonic shooter was Jason Rhodes (Lancashire) with a respectable 75/100. Top lady shot was Lisa Brereton with a fabulous score of 74/100.

We concluded the day with a raffle and totalled the benefits of our efforts. We are pleased to report that we made £950 for our charity account.
